The Programmatic arm of Raising the Bar focuses on music production education for students in grades K-12. Students range from novice to advanced. The RTB curriculum was strategically designed based on the specific needs of the Four Corners community. First, students in the community have a lack of enrichment opportunities that are both accessible and affordable.
Drawing from Memphis’ historic music production legacy, the resurgence of demand in music production with increased access to music distribution channels such as Apple Music and Soundcloud, and the emphasis on music production and sound engineering as lucrative STEM careers that provide students of the future with pathways out of poverty, we designed a experiential curriculum with the following objectives, proven to transform the lives of underserved students
Establish a technical skill set that can be monetized and utilized for career advancement
Promote academic achievement according to Tennessee State standards
Create positive mentorship and role models for students to emulate
Equip students to be self empowered, unlocking the full potential of self-efficacy and self-esteem
